Clifford Chance has advised NBC Universal Global Networks Deutschland GmbH on the sale of its 50% share in The History Channel (Germany) GmbH & Co. KG to companies belonging to A+E Networks. The History Channel (Germany) had previously been operated as a joint venture between NBCUniversal and A+E Networks.

The History Channel (Germany) operates the TV channels "HISTORY©" (previously "THE HISTORY CHANNEL©") and "A&E©" in Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, South Tyrol and the German-speaking part of Switzerland. The completion of the transaction is subject to conditions precedent.

NBCUniversal is part of Comcast Group, a global media and technology company. In the 2016 financial year, Comcast had more than 150,000 employees and generated revenues of approximately USD 80 billion.
