Dentons’ Real Estate team advised Union Investment on the acquisition of the five-star Radisson Blu hotel in Wroclaw, Poland’s fourth largest city and next year’s European Capital of Culture. The hotel was sold by a company from the UBM Development AG group.

UBM developed the Radisson Blu in hotel in 2002. It is conveniently located close to the city’s main square with numerous tourist attractions, local transportation as well as the airport. It offers its guests premium services with 162 rooms, 75 parking spaces, a health spa and conference facilities for up to 350 people. Its spacious inner courtyard is also shared with the Academy of Arts.

The Dentons team was supervised by Tomasz Stasiak, partner of the Real Estate practice in Warsaw. The transaction was led by Senior Associate Anna Garbula-Wegrzynowska and supported by Counsel Bartlomiej Kordeczka.

Tomasz Stasiak commented: “Following our assistance with the successful acquisition of the Focus Park shopping center in Rybnik in early May, we are now delighted to act for Union Investment on the further growth of its Polish portfolio.”

Wroclaw will be the European Capital of Culture in 2016 as well as the host of the 2016 European Film Awards ceremony, and The World Games in 2017.
