King & Wood Mallesons advises TransDigm Inc. on acquisition of Franke Aquarotter aerospace business

10 Apr 2015

King & Wood Mallesons has advised the US listed TransDigm Group Incorporated (TransDigm) on its acquisition of the aerospace business of Franke Aquarotter GmbH (Franke Aquarotter) for approximately $75 million.

Franke Aquarotter, whose name going forward will be Adams Rite Aerospace GmbH, is located in Ludwigsfelde, Germany, and employs approximately 50 people. The company, which used to be part of the renowned Swiss Franke Group, manufactures proprietary faucets and related products for use on commercial transports and regional jets (Mobile Systems). Important customers include Airbus (platforms A320, A330, A380), Bombardier and Embraer regional jets. The Washroom Systems business, which remains with the Franke Group, was split-off in the course of the transaction.

TransDigm is a leading global designer, producer and supplier of highly engineered aircraft components for use on nearly all commercial and military aircraft in service today.

King & Wood Mallesons recently advised TransDigm on the acquisition of Telair group for $725 million.

“Advising and successfully closing both transactions for TransDigm in parallel, again demonstrates the strength of King & Wood Mallesons specifically in relation to aerospace transactions”, commented lead partner Michael Cziesla on the transaction.
