Mayer Brown announced today that the firm is strengthening its German Banking & Finance practice with the addition of Dr. Martin Heuber as a partner in Frankfurt. Mr. Heuber will enhance the firm’s debt financing capabilities. He joins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Furthermore, Dr. Holger Schelling from DZ BANK AG joins the German Financial Services Regulatory & Enforcement practice as a counsel.

Mr. Heuber advises financial institutions, corporates and sponsors on all aspects of debt financing, particularly acquisition finance, syndicated lending and real estate finance, including restructurings.

“Martin and Holger are perfect additions to the team,” said Dr. Jochen Seitz, leader of the Banking & Finance practice in Germany. “They will significantly contribute to the strategic expansion of our practice and each of them will offer our clients, especially in the financial sector, an impressive experience.”

“Mayer Brown’s international network and its capabilities, especially in the banking and finance sector, offer the ideal platform to further expand my practice,” said Mr. Heuber.

“Adding Martin and Holger to our team is another significant step in Mayer Brown’s targeted and strategic expansion in Germany,” said Guido Zeppenfeld, partner-in-charge of the firm’s German offices. “They will be valuable assets to our group.”
