PARTNER MOVES - Shearman & Sterling Expands Global M&A and Private Equity Capabilities with Addition of Ben Rodham in London

22 Sep 2014

Global law firm Shearman & Sterling has expanded its global M&A and private equity practices with the addition of Ben Rodham, who joins the firm as a partner in the London office.

Rodham comes to Shearman & Sterling from Addleshaw Goddard LLP, where he was a partner and advised private equity firms and other financial sponsors across all forms of leveraged M&A, disposals, restructurings and portfolio company issues. His practice focuses on UK and cross-border transactional work both for UK-listed and private companies. Before becoming a partner at Addleshaws, Rodham was a managing associate at Linklaters.

“We are very excited to welcome Ben to the firm,” said Creighton Condon, the firm’s Senior Partner. “We have made the expansion of our global M&A/private equity practice a key strategic objective in recent years, and Ben enhances our offering with outstanding experience in private equity transactions.”

Added Mark Soundy, Shearman & Sterling’s Global Private Equity Group co-leader, “Ben is clearly one of the brightest rising stars in the UK private equity space. He is a first-class addition to our top-notch team, as we continue to build our market-leading practice.”

Rodham is ranked as “Up and Coming” in Private Equity in the Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession. Chambers noted that he “is a well-regarded private equity specialist who advises clients on a wide range of transactions. He is particularly noted for his work on behalf of major investors.”
