14 May 2014

International law firm Taylor Wessing has grown its market leading Corporate Technology practice with the hire of Adrian Rainey as a partner. He joins from Taylor Vinters, where he established the London office's venture capital practice.

Adrian, who joins the firm on the 12th May, specialises in venture capital and M&A work in the technology sector. He advises institutional, corporate and individual investors, as well as companies of all sizes, from start-up through to exit in intellectual property-rich industries including software, financial technology, digital media, life sciences and medical devices.

Adrian was previously an associate at Taylor Wessing between 2005 and 2009, and has also worked in-house at Cambridge Display Technology and the private equity fund Hamilton Bradshaw.

Mike Turner, head of Taylor Wessing's Technology, Media and Communications group, said:

"Adrian's experience in IP-rich industries is extensive and we are certain he will add to our offering to both existing and future clients. We're delighted to be welcoming him back to Taylor Wessing."

Adrian Rainey said: "Taylor Wessing is rare amongst law firms in having a dedicated corporate technology practice, acting internationally for companies at all stages of their life-cycle as well as funds and large corporate investors in technology too. The firm provides the whole breadth of services to tech companies, from venture capital and M&A to private equity and capital markets. With this, a dedicated offering and a presence in tech hubs around the world as well as in the UK, it is undoubtedly a market leading practice. I'm delighted to be re-joining Taylor Wessing."

Taylor Wessing has a reputation as a leading advisor to the TMT sector internationally, with more than 100 lawyers dedicated to tech sector clients. The firm undertakes a full range of legal services for clients throughout their life-cycle, providing start-ups and tech giants with advice on corporate transactions, funding arrangements, intellectual property, commercial contracts, employment issues and disputes.
