Shoosmiths has advised global real estate services firm CBRE on their move to 55 Temple Row in the city. 100 CBRE staff will move from the real estate firm's current Cornwall Court offices on Edmund Street to their new base opposite Birmingham Cathedral later this summer.

55 Temple Row is the former Birmingham branch of the Bank of England and is a landmark building in the city centre. Clad in Portland stone and with copper-clad beams, the offices can be seen from almost every part of Cathedral Square.

Shoosmiths real estate partner Jason Jackson said: 'The move to Temple Row helps to cement CBRE's position as the leading real estate advisers in the city and with such a landmark location I'm sure the practice will continue to go from strength to strength. Myself and the team here at Shoosmiths in Birmingham are proud to have helped them in their relocation.'

CBRE Birmingham's managing director, Martin Guest, said: 'For staff, we will be adopting a new working style, including agile working and paperless systems. There will be showers and lockers for those who commute by cycle or run during the day.

'For clients we will provide enhanced meeting facilities, with wi-fi and a coffee bar. There will be an open invitation to drop in and draw breath with great views of the cathedral.'
