Countryside Zest secures planning permission for Chelmsford's New Neighbourhood

17 Mar 2014

Ashurst has advised Countryside Zest LLP, a joint venture between Countryside Properties and London & Quadrant Housing, to secure planning permission for its Beaulieu development. This will lead to the creation of a new neighbourhood in north east Chelmsford.

The scheme will provide for a maximum of 3,600 residential units, a 40,000 sq m business park, three new schools, community facilities, extensive highway improvements, substantial financial contributions towards a new railway station, the creation of open spaces and leisure facilities (including an estate parkland to enhance the setting of the Grade I Listed New Hall School) and public transport enhancements.

The Ashurst team advised Countryside Zest on the extensive planning process providing advice on Chelmsford City Council's local development policy documents, the s106 planning agreement and conditions of the planning permission, highway agreements and related property issues.

The Ashurst team was led by planning partner Anthony Curnow and real estate partner Sarah Sivyour assisted by senior associates Sarah Batterton and Donna Fleming and solicitor Ben Groves.
