Esin Attorney Partnership, a member firm of Baker & McKenzie International, and Baker & McKenzie advised ING Group's Turkish subsidiary on a syndicated loan obtained for trade finance purposes.
The Firm advised ING Bank A.S. (ING Bank Turkey) on a USD 134,400,000 and EUR 263,400,000 dual tranche dual-currency term loan agreement between ING Bank A.S. and a syndicate of 23 major banks from 11 countries. Akbank T.A.S., Bank of America Merrill Lynch International Limited, Bank of China (UK) Limited, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd, Barclays Bank PLC, Goldman Sachs International, HSBC Bank Plc, J.P. Morgan Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, Türkiye Halk Bankasi A.S., and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. were the mandated lead arrangers. A further 12 banks committed to the deal at various levels. The deal was signed and closed on March 19.
A seamless cross-border team of lawyers from Esin Attorney Partnership, the Turkish member firm of Baker & McKenzie, and Baker & McKenzie's Paris office advised on the loan agreement. Leading the team advising ING Bank Turkey were partners Muhsin Keskin (Istanbul) and Michael Foundethakis (Paris). Associates Tugce Ugurlu (Istanbul) and Jennifer Venet (Paris) provided support.
