Shoosmiths' real estate team has acted for Xafinity Consulting, in a deal that will see the company relocate from Greyfriars Road in Reading to Phoenix, a prestigious new office on Station Hill.
Xafinity, one of the UK's leading pensions and employment benefits specialists, will take the entire second and third floors of the new office development situated next to Reading railway station, providing a total of 20,521 sq ft of office space.
Xafinity has managed to agree and acquire the space, despite a shortage in Grade A office space in the town. The company follows in the footsteps of Samsung Electronics, which took 9,600sq ft of the Grade A office building in October last year.
Shoosmiths' partner Andrew Farmery and associate Angela Mildenhall led the work for Xafinity Consulting.
Andrew Farmery said: 'This Grade A office space was important for Xafinity - not only will Phoenix provide the company with space to grow as their company expands, it is also a perfect, quality office space to relocate its head office. Xafinity are a key client for us and we are delighted to be have been able to help them achieve this deal, which is the largest letting to take place in the town centre this year.'
Phoenix boasts a double height reception, a state of the art air conditioning system, 52 car parking spaces, three 10 person lifts, a shower for those cycling to and from work, and has accessible disabled facilities. The office space rates highly against environmental indicators, earning a BREEAM rating of 'very good'.
Shoosmiths' real estate group is one of the largest in the UK. Spread across seven offices and comprising 39 partners and 248 staff in total, it is made up of real estate, construction, planning, property litigation, and environmental specialists.
