Wierzbowski Eversheds advises the City of Warsaw on obtaining PLN 1 billion in long-term financing from EIB

Eversheds Banking & Finance team have advised the City of Warsaw on obtaining financing from the European Investment Bank of PLN 1 billion for projects in the areas of transport, education, healthcare, social services and public spaces.

At the law firm, the project was headed by Dr Krzysztof Haladyj, the partner in charge of the Banking & Finance practice, supported by Tomasz Balawajder, a lawyer on the team.

This is only the latest financing project for development of urban infrastructure which lawyers from Wierzbowski Eversheds have participated in. Also with our support, the Warsaw tram operator Tramwaje Warszawskie obtained loans to achieve its strategic development plans, and the municipal water and sewer authority Miejskie Przedsiebiorstwo Wodociagow i Kanalizacji wm.st. Warszawie S.A. obtained financing for construction of the Czajka wastewater treatment plant, among other projects. The firm also had the honour of working for the City of Warsaw on obtaining earlier financing from EIB, in 2013, for expansion of the Warsaw Metro.
