Eversheds puts best foot forward in Scholl Footwear sale

Law firm Eversheds has advised Reckitt Benckiser on the sale of Scholl Footwear to the AURELIUS Group.

Under the agreement, Reckitt Benckiser has agreed to sell its Scholl footwear business to Aurelius Group.

AURELIUS’ investment will support the development of Scholl footwear through organic growth focused on new product offerings and expansion into new markets. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and to the completion of a Works Councils’ consultation process

Scholl Footwear offers a high level of comfort and supports the natural functions of the foot. The Company’s target consumer group comprises adults who are particularly keen on comfortable shoes that prevent and alleviate discomfort. The company already enjoys a high level of brand awareness and positioning across Europe and many Asian markets.

The Eversheds team was led in the UK by partner Richard Lewis, assisted by senior associates Penny Stanfield and Richard Kyle and associate Adam Martin. Emma Cassie advised on IP aspects and Ben Jones on tax. The deal was multi jurisdictional and included the Paris office, led by Antoine Martin, as well as the firm’s Milan and Madrid offices.
