King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin advised the APICIL Group on the acquisition of Skandia’s activities in France and Luxembourg (Skandia Life and Skandia Invest) from Old Mutual.
Based in Paris and in Luxembourg, the life insurance company Skandia Life and the investment company Skandia Invest have been members of Old Mutual since 2006 and employ 67 persons with €2.3 billion assets under management.
The APICIL Group is the 5th largest French Social Protection Group and the leading group in the Rhône-Alpes area (France). This acquisition will enable APICIL to reach a new dimension with more than €5 billion assets under management, making it one of the largest social protection players on the market.
