Ashurst advised Hyundai Motor Company and Hyundai Motor Europe GmbH on the acquisition of its Dutch wholesale distributor from AutoBinck group for an undisclosed consideration. The wholesale distributor exclusively sell new vehicles, spare parts and accessories of the Korean brand in the Netherlands through an authorized dealer network.

This is the second time that Ashurst advised the Hyundai group in its efforts to acquire local distributors for the direct distributorship of Hyundai branded vehicles after the acquisition of the German and France distributorships in 2011. The development of the Hyundai relationship will be part of a presentation to partners about "client success stories" during our partner conference in Dubai this year.  The firm's team was led by corporate partner John Kim and Dr Ingo Scholz and senior associate Carolin Fenck and Huiyeon Kim.
