Paul, Weiss client Shaw Kwei & Partners, an Asian private equity fund manager, has made two recent investments internationally.
The firm invested U.S.$40 million through a convertible bond in SCHMID Group, a 150-year-old German production automation manufacturer. SCHMID, which has a significant portion of its sales in China and facilities in Germany, China, Switzerland and the United States, will use the proceeds for its expanding global business.
In another transaction, Shaw Kwei & Partners invested U.S.$17 million for a 60 percent ownership stake in Amos International Holdings Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based marine logistics firm. Amos provides marine and offshore procurement as well as logistics management solutions to vessels calling at major ports in Asia.
Paul, Weiss advised on both transactions and the team included corporate partner Jeanette Chan, counsel Hans-Gunther Herrmann and David Lee; and China law consultant Yuanyuan Zhou.
