PARTNER MOVES - Arleen Nand joins DLA Piper’s Corporate and Finance practice in Minneapolis

10 Nov 2014

DLA Piper announced today that Arleen Nand has joined the firm’s Corporate and Finance practice as a partner in Minneapolis.

Nand focuses her practice on cross-border and agricultural financings, representing commercial, cooperative and investment banks, hedge funds and corporations in structured finance transactions.

“Arleen’s experience in the area of agricultural lending, where transactions tend to be large, syndicated, and multi-jurisdictional, will further strengthen our US and cross-border finance capabilities,” said Jay Smith, chair of DLA Piper’s US Corporate and Finance practice.

Nand has served as lead counsel on a variety of international matters, including securitizations, syndicated loan transactions, multi-currency and cross-border credit facilities, asset-based and cash flow financings, and convertible debt facilities, among others.

She has advised private equity funds, banks and other clients on transactions involving various domestic and foreign collateral issues, including credit facilities secured by rolling stock, maritime vessels, aircraft, coal reserves, oil rigs and carbon credits.

“We are excited to add a talented practitioner like Arleen who not only has strong ties in the Twin Cities business community, but has also made an impact at the international level,” said Alan Kildow, managing partner of DLA Piper’s Minneapolis office.

Nand joins DLA Piper from Faegre Baker Daniels, where she co-chaired the firm’s agricultural finance practice. She received a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Washington.
