GSK Stockmann + Kollegen is growing its corporate department with another lateral hire. On November 1, corporate expert Dr. Markus Söhnchen (43) will join the Frankfurt office as new equity partner. Markus Söhnchen is coming from the German office of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP in Frankfurt/Main where he was a partner for more than five years.
Dr. Markus Söhnchen specializes in corporate law and transactional counseling of companies, family offices, banks and financial service providers. Another focus of his practice lies in the area of litigation before public courts and arbitration panels, among others with respect to corporate legal issues. During his tenure at Curtis, Dr. Söhnchen was involved in numerous international matters in the area of private equity/venture capital. In recent years he worked frequently on transactions for Leonardo Venture and most recently advised, among others, investors on the acquisition of the vacation resort Land Fleesensee. On the litigation side, with his experience in corporate disputes, he is expanding the conflict resolution group led by Dr. Justus Jansen, who joined GSK Stockmann + Kollegen in September.
"GSK is for me personally and professionally an excellent platform to further develop my consulting practice and the comprehensive counseling of my clients. I very much look forward to working with the excellent colleagues at GSK and the joint multidisciplinary cooperation on challenging legal matters", says Markus Söhnchen.
"With his focus on comprehensive corporate advice for family offices and corporations, Dr. Söhnchen is an ideal fit for the orientation of GSK’s corporate practice", says Dr. Olaf Schmechel, co-managing partner of GSK. "In addition, with his industry contacts in the area of trade as well as his international experience, he will not only provide additional momentum to GSK’s corporate practice, but also advance the focus on specific industries", adds Stefan Koser, also co-managing partner of GSK.
