RPC advised Quanta Fluid Solutions on its successful £27 m fundraising to support the commercial launch of its SC+ machine; the only portable, compact haemodialysis machine in development providing the clinical efficacy and high flow rates comparable to in-centre machines.
SC+ is designed to provide a significant change in the way dialysis patients are treated, with its unique cartridge-based design that allows greater ease-of-use and treatment flexibility, whether in-centre or in the home.
The fundraising was led by ALIAD, the venture capital investment vehicle of Paris-listed engineering company Air Liquide SA, with the French specialist technology investors Seventure Partners also investing in Quanta for the first time.
Existing investors also participated including: Quanta’s FTSE100 listed original parent company, IMI plc; Wellington Partners, Seroba Kernel; NGBI Ventures; and b-to-v Partners.
RPC has acted for investors in Quanta on previous funding rounds, working alongside Quanta Chief Executive Officer John Milad in his former role as Investment Director at NBGI Ventures.
The deal was led by Peter Hill of RPC’s Corporate Finance team, with Associate Matthew Doyle.
Peter said: “This was a complex transaction involving a considerable number of investors and a sophisticated structure typical of venture capital investments.”
“Our appointment was testament to the RPC corporate team’s skill and expertise with private equity and venture capital funding, and to the high quality of the work that we have done with Quanta and its investors in the past.”
