Latham Advises Onex on its Acquisition of Survitec Group

20 Jan 2015

Onex Corporation (“Onex”) (TSX: OCX) announced it has agreed to acquire Survitec Group Limited (“Survitec”) for $680 million (£450 million). The transaction is anticipated to close in the first quarter of 2015, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.

Latham & Watkins advised Onex on the acquisition with a deal team led by London corporate partners Kem Ihenacho and Mike Bond with associates Andrew Clark and Saad Mian. Advice was provided on finance matters by London partner Jay Sadanandan and associate Charles Armstrong; on tax matters by London partner Sean Finn; on pensions and employment matters by London partner Catherine Drinnan; and on antitrust matters by Brussels partner Suzanne Zuehlke.

The transaction is the second Latham has advised Onex on in recent months, following the firm’s role in advising on its multi-billion dollar acquisition of SIG Combibloc Group AG announced in November 2014.
