Ashurst has advised Murray Publishers Pty Limited (a subsidiary of Consolidated Press Holdings Pty Limited) and Transfield Corporate Pty Limited in the A$176 million sale of Perisher Ski Resort to Vale Resorts Inc.

Perisher Blue is the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere and the most visited ski resort in Australia. It represents the first international mountain resort acquisition by Vail Resorts Inc., the leading mountain resorts operator in the United States. Vail Resorts, Inc. is buying the entities that operate Perisher Blue from the sellers. The acquisition includes resort areas, a ski school, food and beverage retail, retail/rental and transportation operations.

The deal was executed on 31 March 2015 and completion is expected in first half CY15.
