DLA Piper has advised Walter Kuna on the sale of his company trading as Kuna & Co. KG, a leading independent corporate finance boutique, to Evercore, an investment bank in New York listed on the stock exchange. Kuna will become Senior Managing Director of Evercore and will be responsible for developing business in Germany.
Kuna & Co. KG was established in 2004 and, with a team of ten employees in the M&A division who are also involved in financing and restructuring, it has been responsible for transactions worth over 25 billion euros. These include some of the biggest, most complex real estate transactions in Germany of the past several years. Clients include Blackstone and Cerberus as well as leading German groups of companies and family enterprises. In addition, Kuna & Co. KG has been engaged in an advisory capacity in other segments such as the retail sector and industrial corporations.
Evercore is one of the leading independent consultancy companies in the field of investment banking; the business was founded in 1995 and has been listed on the New York stock exchange since 2006. Evercore has 28 branches in North America, Europe, South America and Asia. Strategic alliances are in place with India, China, South Korea, as well as Japan.
