Nets A/S has acquired a majority share in the Danish tech company, Signaturgruppen A/S. The transaction was duly closed on 2 July 2015. Bird & Bird acted as legal counsel for Nets A/S through the transaction.

The Nordic provider of payment, card and information systems, Nets A/S, has once again expanded their strong position on the Nordic market. Nets A/S has acquired a majority share and thereby a controlling position in the Danish technology company, Signaturgruppen A/S. The agreement gives Nets A/S an option to acquire the rest of the shares in the company.

Signaturgruppen A/S has since 2006 specialised in development and operation of solutions for digital identity, NemID and digital signature. The selling shareholders will after the transaction remain as minority shareholders and employees in Signaturgruppen A/S.

The acquisition will bring a close cooperation between Nets A/S and Signaturgruppen A/S. The cooperation will give Nets A/S access to influence and further develop of Signaturgruppen A/S, which will result in new and better solutions for the customers.

Furthermore, the acquisition will create value for Nets A/S itself. Signaturgruppen A/S has an extensive specialist knowledge, a strong product portfolio and extensive experience in creating solutions in NemID infrastructure which Nets A/S will be able to utilise in their own business going forward.
