Together with Friheden Invest and a group of current shareholders, Sampension, one of Denmark’s largest pension providers, has invested a three-figure million DKK amount in the e-commerce company BZT Fashion, which owns and operates Boozt.com.
BZT Fashion owns and operates the online shop Boozt.com, which sells clothes, shoes and accessories for the entire family. The shop opened in 2009, and, today, it offers more than 300 Scandinavian and international designer brands such as Day Birger et Mikkelsen, ECCO, By Malene Birger, Tiger of Sweden, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, MOLO and BOSS. BZT Fashion is rapidly growing with a revenue growth of around 70% since 2011 and a strategic goal of being among the three largest players in the market. In 2015, revenue is expected to exceed SEK 1 billion with a positive result.
The capital increase strengthens the company’s growth opportunities within e-commerce with clothing for adults and children. Sampension has followed Boozt.com for a number of years through its cooperation with Sunstone Capital and considers Boozt.com a long-term investment in its portfolio of unlisted companies. A strong foundation for continued growth of the company has been laid.
Sampension manages pension schemes for approx. 300,000 Danes. The majority of the customers are employed within the municipal and governmental sector, however, a number of private-sector employees also have a pension scheme with Sampension through a company pension scheme. Sampension is Denmark’s third largest pension provider with total assets amounting to DKK 257 billion.
Bruun & Hjejle acted as legal adviser to Sampension. The transaction emphasises Bruun & Hjejle’s focus on unlisted investments for institutional investors.
