DWF advises Equiniti on acquisition of TransGlobal Payment Solutions

14 Sep 2015

DWF LLP advised Equiniti, a leading provider of technology led solutions to clients with complex and regulated administration needs, on their acquisition of TransGlobal Payment Solutions. TransGlobal is the technology company that powers the platform for the Group’s foreign exchange payments business, Equiniti International Payments.

TransGlobal provides foreign exchange payments via PayFac, a proprietary cloud based foreign exchange and payment platform servicing a global portfolio of corporate clients. This transaction follows a series of capability enhancing acquisitions for the Group focused on technology.

Guy Wakeley, Chief Executive of Equiniti, said: “We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of TransGlobal, which will further strengthen our position as a provider of innovative technology platforms to some of the best known brands in the UK. Equiniti has worked in partnership with TransGlobal since the launch of Equiniti International Payments in 2011, and so the software is already fully integrated within existing operations. This transaction is a good example of the progress we continue to make in expanding the range of services we offer clients, thereby driving growth through high quality acquisitions.”

The DWF team consisted of Frank Shephard, Vicky Ross, Ben Sims and Hick Hawthorne (Corporate).

Frank Shephard, Corporate Partner who led the deal, said “This represents a great deal for Equiniti and a real team effort. We have a long term relationship with Equiniti having worked with them on a number of acquisitions in recent years. This again demonstrates DWF’s strength in two of our key sectors of Financial Services and Technology. We look forward to working with the Equiniti team in the future as they continue to strengthen their position in the market.”
