Maj Invest Equity, Denmark’s leading Private Equity player , has today announced the acquisition of 85% of the shares in Svendsen Sport and its German sister company D.A.M GMBH, both leading suppliers of fishing tackle in Europe.
Combined Svendsen Sport and D.A.M GMBH is a major player on the European market for fishing tackle with own sales offices in 10 European countries. Svendsen Sport has experienced increasing demands and the company has in recent years delivered high organic growth rates based on strong know-how within product development and brand-building. The partnership with Maj Invest Equity aims to accelerate the growth both in existing and new markets.
CEO and founder Lars Svendsen will continue as CEO and minority share holder.
The deal is subject to merger control approval and is expected to close in Q4 2015.
