King & Wood Mallesons advises Jochen Schweizer on the investment in the social finance app Lendstar

As part of the successful German TV program “Die Höhle der Löwen” (the Lions’ Den), the entrepreneur Jochen Schweizer agreed to the investment  of € 250,000 in the Munich start-up Lendstar, a finance app for payment transactions and loans between friends. Lendstar and the Jochen Schweizer group have also agreed to collaborate in the future. KWM advised the Jochen Schweizer group in the context of its participation in Lendstar.

Lendstar is a finance app, available for iOS and Android. It enables its users to collect, transfer, lend, share and administer money. These functions are combined with social features, such as common management of expenses by friends and family, division of invoices, direct transfer of money to contacts and last but not least chatting and sending photos between friends. The team surrounding founder and CEO Christopher Kampshoff has already received numerous awards, including the “Best of Mobile Award 2015” in the category finance and the best finance App 2014 awarded by the Android Magazin.

“Die Höhle der Löwen” (the Lions` Den), is a German TV program providing a platform for individuals with creative business ideas. These ideas are introduced to a panel of five successful entrepreneurs, the so-called lions (“Löwen”). Jochen Schweizer, being one of the lions, decided to provide financial support to the Lendstar business idea.
