Today, it became clear that DEA is acquiring E.ON's Norwegian business. Wiersholm has advised DEA in this transaction which is referred to as the first step in the company's new growth strategy.

DEA has been present on the Norwegian shelf for more than 40 year through its subsidiary DEA Norge AS. At the time of the acquisition, DEA Norge has ownership interests in 31 licenses, including in several producing fields such as Snorre, Gjøa, Knarr, Snøhvit and Veslefrikk, and is operator in several exploration licenses and of the Zidane field. The company is also a partner in the promising Alta finding.

The acquisition is awaiting approval from Norwegian authorities and the EU Commission.
