Dechert LLP advised Accel Partners, a U.S. venture capital firm, in the €18 million fund raising by French startup company Doctolib, for its platform that seeks to help patients find doctors and schedule appointments. Founded in 2013, Doctolib provides management and communication tools to healthcare professionals.
This new fund raising, the third in two years for a total of €23 million, will help the company to continue its growth in France and start the international expansion to new territories in Europe. With this new transaction, Doctolib plans to outrun its competitors by launching its concept in six countries over the next 18 months and to cover all of Europe by 2020. The company also intends to strengthen its workforce with 10 new hires each month, in an effect to reach more than 500 recruitments by 2017. “Dechert has advised clients in several fund raisings, such as BlaBlaCar, Algolia, PeopleDoc, Kobojo, Actility, Howtank, that confirmed the attractiveness of French companies for international investors” explained Matthieu Grollemund, partner in Dechert France.
The Paris based team advising Accel Partners was led by partner Matthieu Grollemund and assisted by associates Hélène Parent, Raphaël Sendowski, Raphaël Fauchart (corporate) and Alexandra Briens (labor & employment).
