Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised global insurer Zurich on its agreement to acquire Kono Insurance Limited (Kono Insurance), an authorised general business insurer in Hong Kong.

The proposed acquisition was announced today and remains subject to regulatory approval.

Kono Insurance is a general business insurer in Hong Kong, with a particular focus on construction and engineering related insurance.

The Freshfields team advising on the transaction was led by Asia managing partner Robert Ashworth, corporate partner Alexander Doorman and counsel Christian Zeppezauer.
