Lawyers from Dentons’ Banking and Finance practice advised Bank Pekao SA on financing the acquisition of the 5-star Sheraton Warsaw Hotel. The cross-border transaction, supervised by partner Mateusz Toczyski, was closed on 28 October 2015.
The purchase of the hotel was part of a transaction worth €420 million in total. The joint venture of private equity real estate fund managers, Benson Elliot and Walton Street Capital, in partnership with leading European hotel group, Algonquin, bought a portfolio of eight prestigious hotels in Europe. The transaction included Sheraton hotels in Warsaw and Rome, Westin hotels in Milan and Venice, the Pullman in Paris, the Méridien Grand Hotel in Nuremberg and the Marriot Executive Apartments and Renaissance in Brussels. Together these hotels manage 2,308 rooms.
