Allen & Overy LLP has advised the industrial insurance subsidiary of Talanx Group, HDI-Gerling Industrie Versicherung AG, on its change of form to a European company (Societas Europaea, SE) with regard to corporate and regulatory law issues.

The company now operates under the name of HDI Global SE.

The change of form reflects the increasing internationalisation of the company's industrial insurance division.  In 2014, more than three thousand employees in this division generated approx. four billion euros gross premium in more than 130 countries worldwide.

Inhouse advice on the change of form and the associated name change was provided by Caroline Schlienkamp (head of company and capital market law), Kerstin Winkler (company and capital market law) and Stephan Müller (commercial and regulatory law).

The Allen & Overy team was led by partner Birgit Reese (corporate and regulatory law, Düsseldorf) and comprised counsel Dr. Jens Wagner (corporate law, Munich) and Anne Fischer (corporate insurance law/regulatory law, Düsseldorf) as well as associate Dr. Johanna Röth-Bäcker (corporate law, Düsseldorf).
