A consortium between the PKA pension funds and KIRKBI Invest A/S has acquired 50% of the Burbo Extention Windfarm under construction in the Irish Sea west of Liverpool.

The project includes the Turbine Supply Agreement with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind for the first major delivery of the MHI Vestas V164-8,0 MW wind turbine, where the length of each wing exceeds the length of the world’s largest passenger jet (the A380). The purchase price for the 50% share is 6.6 bnDKK which makes the transaction the largest ever of its kind between DONG Energy and Danish institutional investors.
