DLA Piper has advised award-winning Sheffield business Pricecheck Toiletries on its recent move to a new head office, as well as the relocation of its storage and distribution facilities to accommodate a period of rapid growth for the company.
Founded in Sheffield in 1978, Pricecheck Toiletries is a leading supplier of international branded consumer goods in the health and beauty sector. It supplies discounted clearance stock of branded health and beauty, food, drinks, medicines and household consumer products. The company is a second generation family owned business, established by the parents of Mark Lythe and Debbie Harrison, who now run the company as Joint Managing Directors.
In 2015 Pricecheck Toiletries won The Queen’s Award for Enterprise - one of the UK’s highest accolades for business success. The firm received the award in the International Trade category, in recognition of growing its export sales over a six year period fourfold– from £3m in 2009, to £12m in 2014.
The DLA Piper team advised Pricecheck Toiletries on the creation and adoption of a lease for a new head office, and a major storage and distribution facility in Sheffield.
"This deal marks the next step for Mark and Debbie who have impressively grown Pricecheck over a six year period," explained DLA Piper Legal Director Mark Keeling.
"We are delighted DLA Piper helped us secure new premises. Given the tight timescales and the logistical complexities in our move their assistance proved invaluable." explained Debbie Harrison, Joint Managing Director of Pricecheck Toiletries. "The move will allow us to double our turnover from £40m to an anticipated £80m, and increase staff numbers to 150 over a five year period. Winning the Queen’s Award in 2015 has also helped to enhance our reputation worldwide and will help us to achieve more ambitious growth plans."
The DLA Piper team consisted of Legal Director Mark Keeling (Real Estate), Partner Petra Billing (Real Estate , both Sheffield), and Kirstie Allerton (Banking, Leeds).
