Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has acted as international legal counsel for UBS AG, Credit Suisse AG, and the underwriting syndicate on the Swiss IPO of VAT Group AG
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has acted as international legal counsel for UBS AG, Credit Suisse AG, and the underwriting syndicate on the Swiss IPO of VAT Group AG – the global market leader for high-end vacuum valves used in the semiconductor industry and elsewhere. At CHF 621 million, the IPO is the largest in Europe so far this year.
The shares are listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and the offering represented a 46% stake in the company, reducing ownership of Partners Group and Capvis, who had acquired VAT Group in 2014, to 45%.
The Freshfields team was led by London partners Simone Bono and Ashar Qureshi, assisted by associates Taylor Souter and Erin Gray and secondee Andreas Mueller.
In addition to the VAT Group IPO, Freshfields has also acted on the largest IPO in Asia and on one of the largest in the United States so far in 2016: the $1.7 billion China Zeshang Bank IPO in Hong Kong in March, and the $500 million IPO of Silver Run Acquisition Corp in the United States in February.
