Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has advised Ingenious Real Estate, the property division of alternative investment firm Ingenious, on a joint venture with property developer, Mount Audley.
The new business, trading as IMA Real Estate, will combine the skills and resources of the two partners, building on Mount Audley’s successful operating model which focuses upon developing residential property, purchasing land, or commercial real estate where value can be added through the planning process, refurbishment or asset management. It launches with access to a pool of up to £50,000,000 of capital to fund its initial projects.
This is the first transaction for which BLP has acted for Ingenious Real Estate, having previously advised on multiple deals for its infrastructure business. BLP advised Ingenious on the structuring, negotiation, commercial terms and documentation of the joint venture.
Kiran Arora, Projects and Infrastructure Partner, BLP commented: “We are delighted to broaden our relationship with Ingenious, drawing on the experience of our market-leading real estate practice. IMA Real Estate has all the ingredients for an exciting future: a clear focus within a growth sector and strong financial and technical support from its parents.”
The BLP team was led by Kiran Arora, who worked closely with Associate Helen Miller.
