Ashurst advised Babcock Mission Critical Services (MCS), part of the Babcock International Group plc, on the purchase of the helicopter services company Heli Aviation GmbH (Heli Aviation). Besides the limited company, located in Augsburg, two Chinese subsidiaries and a share in the Northern German joint venture Northern HeliCopter are part of the purchase deal. Seller is Marco Ohnhäuser, a shareholder in the Ohnhäuser Group.
Heli Aviation's service spectrum encompasses humanitarian aid missions, complex training solutions for private and commercial pilots, aerial work activity both on shore and off shore, maintenance services and rescue missions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the People's Republic of China. With the purchase, MCS will further expand its market position as leading international supplier of emergency and crisis related aerial services.
The Ashurst team was led by corporate partner Dr Thomas Sacher and corporate counsel Volker Germann. They were supported by associate Johannes Feddersen (all Munich).
