International technology, media and telecoms law firm Olswang has advised the shareholders of Alan Dick Communications (ADComms), a leading UK technology integration specialist providing end-to-end telecoms-based services to the transportation and mobile telecoms sectors, on its acquisition by Panasonic Europe.
Retaining its brand and current management structure, ADComms and its companies, IPS, AIB, and Rail Order, will now join the System Solutions division within Panasonic. This acquisition will provide Panasonic with an opportunity to expand into the rapidly growing rail market and drive the development of innovative transport infrastructure solutions for customers.
Tony Greaves, a selling shareholder of ADComms, commented: "We needed advisers with expertise in the technology and telecoms market who could guide us capably through the acquisition process, and Olswang were a true asset in this regard. We'd like to thank Paul and the team for their hard work, steadying influence and invaluable commercial advice."
Olswang Corporate Partner Paul Guite commented: "We're delighted to have advised on the sale of ADComms to Panasonic. This strategic partnership marries ADComm's industry leading expertise in transport and telecoms infrastructure with Panasonic's world class R&D support network and financial backing. The Olswang team, which combined our Corporate, Tax, Employment and Intellectual Property (IP) expertise, look forward to working with ADComms and its former shareholders on future ventures."
The Olswang team was led by Corporate Partner Paul Guite, and supported by Tax Partner Mark Joscelyne, Tax Barrister Robert Sartor, Corporate Senior Associate Spencer Collins, Employment Senior Associate Ed Arnold, Corporate Associate Jennifer Lloyd and IP Associate Alasdhair McDonald.
