King & Wood Mallesons has advised Astorg Asset Management on the fund raising of Astorg VI.

Astorg VI achieved a final close, exceeding its initial target of €1.5 billion at its hard-cap of €2 billion to €2.1 billion. The fund was raised from international investors including pension funds, insurance companies and institutional asset managers from Europe (62%), North America (30%) and Asia (8%).

Astorg Asset Management is an independent management company, approved by the CSSF in Luxembourg, which complements the European system of the group. Created in 1998, Astorg is a private equity firm with total funds under management of over €4 billion. It seeks to partner with successful and entrepreneurial management teams, to acquire businesses, particularly family-owned, with attractive growth prospects.

The KWM team was led by Paris International Funds partner Nathalie Duguay with associates Léa Gnaly and Julie-Ann Camboni on the fundraising aspects. Parik Dasgupta, International Funds partner in New York advised on the American law aspects. Paris Tax partner Sylvie Vansteenkiste and associate Sarah Mordoff advised on the Tax aspects of the deal.
