DLA Piper has advised Ingredion Incorporate, Inc. (Ingredion) on its asset acquisition of rice starch and rice flour business from Sun Flour Industry Co, Ltd. and Sun Flour Starch Industry Co., Ltd. based in Banglen, Thailand as to Thai law.
Ingredion is a leading global provider of ingredient solutions to diversified industries. The acquisition supports Ingredion’s global strategy to increase its higher-value specialty ingredients business while at the same time, it also positions Thailand as a value-added, rice-based food ingredients production and export base. The acquisition, governed entirely by Thai laws, is subject to approval by relevant authorities and once the transaction is completed, Ingredion will have four manufacturing facilities and 870 employees in Thailand, including the 120 employees joining the Company from Sun Flour.
