DLA Piper helps Boatsetter secure $13 million in new funding

16 Dec 2016

DLA Piper represented Florida-based Boastsetter, a peer-to-peer boating rental service, in raising US$13 million in Series A funding to expand its sales and marketing efforts. The company provides a wide variety of high-end rentals for yachting, cruising, fishing and sailing.

Boatsetter has focused primarily on the Florida market, but the new funding will help it expand its reach in other areas. The company, founded to make the boat rental process more efficient and enjoyable, is recognized for its network of licensed captains whose services can be requested during the rental process.

The DLA Piper team representing Boatsetter was led by partner Eric Grossman, of counsel Matt VanderGoot and associate Steve Ryan (all of Northern Virginia).

The transaction was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
