The Soho House hotel chain has stepped into the Spanish market with the opening of its first establishment in Barcelona. The transaction was possible thanks to a joint-venture partnership between the Soho House Group and Orca Holding.

Located on the Barcelona seafront, the hotel opens its doors after extensive renovation of a property acquired from Residencial Paseo Colón S.L. A total €60 million was invested to buy and renovate the building as a hotel.

Cuatrecasas advised the Soho House Group on this transaction, through a legal team made up of experts from the Corporate, Real Estate and Tax Practices, including partners Marco A. Sanz, Sonia Velasco, Bernat Mullerat and Yolanda Guerra, and associates Xavier Morera, Guadalupe Díaz-Súnico, Màrcia Freixanet and Iván Moreno.

The high-end Soho House hotel chain offers a mix of hotel and private club, with 18 establishments worldwide.
