DLA Piper has advised BLK International Pty Ltd on its acquisition of apparel business BLK Sport.
BLK International Pty Ltd (BLK International), a consortium led by Esperanca Timor Oan and other Timor–Leste and Fiji based investors, acquired the BLK Sport business, brand and associated sub-brands from World Rugby Specialists Pty Ltd (Receivers and Managers Appointed)(Administrators Appointed) for an undisclosed sum on 13 January 2017.
BLK International will operate BLK Sport and will retain the existing BLK business executive team and senior management. The business, who until 2011 traded as KooGa, is one of Australia's leading apparel suppliers to grassroots and professional sporting teams and will continue to manufacture and supply sports apparel for sporting clubs and fans worldwide.
The DLA Piper team was led by Brisbane corporate partner Lyndon Masters with senior associate Alexander Samson.
