BLP have acted for UK motor racing circuit owner Motorsport Vision Limited (MSV), in respect of its acquisition of Donington Park race circuit business. MSV, a private company managed by the former F1 driver Jonathan Palmer and Sir Peter Ogden, already owns and operates four major UK race circuits. Donington is one of the UK’s best-known tracks and hosts the annual World Superbike Championships and the annual Download Festival.

Jonathan Palmer said, “Donington is a good British circuit that deserves further investment, energy and expertise in order to make it truly outstanding, and MSV will provide this. We plan a great new era for Donington, with some exciting new events and much enhanced quality of experience for all of its customers”.

The cross departmental BLP team was led by Real Estate Partner, Matthew Peel and Senior Associate Emma le Wita, alongside Corporate Partner Cath Shirley-Brown. Further to advising on the real estate and corporate aspects of the deal, BLP also advised on various IP, commercial, tax, competition, banking and employment matters.
