Canadian energy infrastructure company Enbridge and German utilities company EnBW to build a North Sea wind park with 71 wind turbines

Berlin—Global law firm Dentons has advised Canadian energy infrastructure company Enbridge on its investment in offshore wind farm EnBW Hohe See. Enbridge has announced that it will partner with EnBW, a German utility to develop the 497 MW Hohe See wind farm being erected approx. one hundred kilometers off the North Sea coast. A total of 71 wind turbines with a total capacity of 497 MW are expected to supply an average of 560,000 households with electricity.

Enbridge operates the world's longest crude oil and liquids transportation system across Canada and the US as well as Canada's largest natural gas distribution company and a portfolio of natural gas gathering, transmission and processing assets. Enbridge also has interests in more than 2,500 megawatts of net renewable and alternative generating capacity, and continues to expand into wind, solar and geothermal power and power transmission. Based in Calgary, Enbridge's common shares trade on the Toronto and New York stock exchanges.

EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg is one of the largest energy supply companies in Germany and Europe.

Dentons advised Enbridge on all legal aspects of the transaction, including the service contracts, acquisition structure and regulatory issues.
