London — Mayer Brown has advised European private equity firm, Vitruvian Partners, on the purchase of OAG Aviation Holdings Limited from AXIO Group, the portfolio company owned by Epiris Managers LLP, for approximately $215 million.
OAG is the global leader in aviation information and intelligence. The company has grown to become the world’s leading provider of flight information (schedules and status) and related analytical tools.
Ben Johnson, partner at Vitruvian Partners, commented: “Perry and his team mobilised at short notice for a major effort in an accelerated period of time. It is a testament to their commerciality and commitment that we were able to sign and close within a small number of days of being chosen by the vendor."
The Mayer Brown team was led by Private Equity partners Perry Yam and James West and included Corporate & Securities senior associates Joanne Maitland and Patrick Hennessy, and trainee solicitor Katie Bunce; Banking & Finance partner Andrew Crotty and associates Ravi Amin and Emma Sturt; Tax Transactions & Consulting partner James Hill and senior associate Benjamin Fryer; IP partner Mark Prinsley and senior associate Daniel Gallagher; and Employment & Benefits partner Christopher Fisher.
Mayer Brown's leading global Private Equity practice is spread across four continents, covering: the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, and advises on all aspects of private equity transactions.
This is the third deal Mayer Brown's London Private Equity team has acted on in February 2017, having advised H.I.G Capital on the sale of Fibercore and the main shareholders of OpenCloud Limited on its sale to Metaswitch.
