De Gaulle Fleurance & AssociƩs assisted the e-health company DietSensor in the simultaneous implementation of its connected nutrition scanner for patients suffering from diabetes, in France and in the United States.

02 Mar 2017

Our advice and assistance, throughout 2016, consisted in helping DietSensor validate its regulatory strategy including from the perspective of the rules governing medical devices, health personal data, medical practice and the protection of consumers. We also assisted DietSensor in the design and drafting of the general terms of use and privacy policy of the Internet platform connected to DietSensor’s nutrition scanner. Thanks to the coordination with one of our referent law firms in the United States Covington & Burling LLP, the product was implemented both in France and in the United States, while managing the fundamental differences between the legal environments of these two countries and the budget constraints inherent to start-ups while having to evolve in a demanding technical expertise context.

Cécile Théard-Jallu, Partner, coordinated the team which included, beyond herself, Jean-Marie Job, Partner, and Marie Sanchez. She also managed the case with Kurt Wimmer, Partner, who coordinated the Covington & Burling LLP’s team on US law aspects.

De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés developed a well-known activity in healthcare law as well as in new technologies or contracts engineering, and in particular in all matters related to health personal data protection and e-health. Each year, international guides (Chambers, Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Décideurs, …) recognize its experimented experts and its sectorial and entrepreneurial approach.
