Osborne Clarke has advised NASDAQ-listed MKS Instruments on the disposal of its data analytics solutions business to Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH.

A global leader in technology solutions, MKS Instruments Inc disposed of its Sweden-based company MKS Instruments AB (Umetrics). Umetrics specialises in data analytics software for modelling and optimising biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing processes.

The Osborne Clarke Corporate team that advised on the disposal was led by Senior Partner Andrew Saul and Senior Associate Kate Mellor. Advice was provided on tax matters by corporate tax Partners Alistair Godwin and Michael Bell, on intellectual property matters by Partner Robert Guthrie and Trainee Solicitor Oliver Woods and on commercial matters by Partner John Buyers, Senior Associate Simon Bollans and Associate Daisy Jones. The multi-jurisdictional deal involved Sweden, Germany, US, Singapore and UK.
