Grupo Zeta sells Ediciones B, including well-known publications such as “Mortadelo y Filemón”

Penguin Random House, a worldwide publishing group, has entered into an agreement with Grupo Zeta to buy Ediciones B.

The transaction is subject to the legal and administrative requirements being met. When the sale goes through, the publishing giant will strengthen its market share in Spain and in Latin America thanks to its acquisition of the B imprints “Bruguera” and “B de Bolsillo” and popular titles such as “Mortadelo y Filemón.”

Cuatrecasas advised Grupo Zeta and Ediciones B on the transaction through a legal team made up of partner Alejandro Payá and associates Ane Ballano, Álvaro Comas and Juan Antonio Vaqué (Corporate and Commercial), and partner Pedro Blázquez and senior associates Guadalupe Díaz-Súnico and Agnès Granés (Tax).
