Miltenyi Biotec, a global provider of products and services that advance biomedical research and cellular therapy, acquired Sensoation AG, Radolfzell, a quality supplier of scientific imaging instrumentation backed, among others, by private equity fund Heidelberg Capital. Sensovation AG specialises in the development and production of scientific imaging and low light detection using CCD and CMOS technology primarily used in Life Science applications. With this strategic acquisition, Miltenyi Biotec extends its product portfolio and plans to further expand in Radolfzell in order to use the specialist know-how of Sensovation AG for the development of new products.

Dechert advised the selling investor syndicate led by HeidelbergCapital. The Munich-based transaction team was led by senior associate Christian Böhme, and included senior associate Julia Braun, associate Clara Gollwitzer and partner Berthold Hummel.
