Addleshaw Goddard has advised Sheffield-based independent game developer Sumo Digital on its acquisition of design studio Atomhawk Design Ltd.

The acquisition strategically supports Sumo Digital's plans to become a powerhouse for high quality creative and development services and will bolster Atomhawk's growth ambitions, which include plans to open a second studio in North America.

Based in Gateshead, Atomhawk, who provide marketing, production, motion graphics and design services for film and game industries, will continue to operate as an autonomous business with the same management and creative teams post acquisition.

The AG team was led by Head of Corporate Yunus Seedat alongside Ben Collins and Caera Loughran (Corporate) and Rebekah Fisher and Lauren Wills-Dixon (Banking).

In 2016, AG advised NorthEdge and management of Sumo Digital on its sale to Perwyn.
